Some days are more difficult than others, but we can program our minds to declare that each day is going to be a great day. Often, professionals return to work on Monday and can’t wait till Friday when they can declare “TGIF – Thank God it’s Friday!” The problem is that Friday is several days away, and today is the day to enjoy life. Get rid of the excuses and let’s make a decision to enjoy life right now!
On the way to the office every Monday morning, I stop at Caribou Coffee to take advantage of the Monday special. Although I’m in the process of cutting out coffee from my diet, I order a medium coffee (at a discount of course) and occasionally a Lemon Poppy Seed Bread. I enjoy coffee, but I’m also aware that it’s not good for my health. So, on Monday mornings, I get to “cheat” my diet and enjoy the finest coffee – from Caribou (how about that Starbucks!). It’s a treat that makes me happy!
As an entrepreneur, I can’t wait to get back to work. I can’t wait to talk to the next customer. I can’t wait to resolve the next account for my clients. And lastly, I can’t wait to get paid – this sometimes can take longer than expected! Nonetheless, building a business requires a cheerful and optimistic attitude. When your face demonstrates those feelings, every spirit that surrounds you will be uplifted.
You may not be where you want to be. It may take time. However, if you can look into your future and identify what you want from life, I guarantee that happiness will make those dreams come true sooner than a pen-to-paper goals sheet or a business plan proposal. There are too many people who ignore the feeling that counts the most. Manufacturing happiness will ignite excitement, motivation, and purpose.
The decision is yours to make. I face a Monday 52 times a year. I’m 24 years old, I expect to live to be 100 years old or longer, which means I will experience another 3900 Mondays in my lifetime. I don’t have time to be angry. I will make every Monday count. It’s the start of my work week and happiness gives me an edge over my competitors. I made my decision, how about you?

Hi Boun,
I really enjoyed your first blog. I have often times felt the same feelings about “Mondays”, and had no idea why during my corporate years. After I decide to begin an introspective journey I then realized I was not happy working in the careers I had chosen. It took many years to be able to “break away” because of the social imprinting of what is determined to be “successful” in our society. I always felt compelled to want to make a difference in the lives of people.
I am honored to have you as a friend and very happy that you are realizing what’s important in life and the enjoyment in doing something you love.
Keep up the great work and continue to learn and grow as a person. This will allow you to continue to offer more to your family, community, the world and truly be happy.
Keep the blogs coming!!!
Sincere
Excellent post…
Thanks for reading and your support in everything I do. I’m excited about this blog site. It will give me an opportunity to learn more about you guys as you begin sharing your stories.
Major kudos! Monday is the best day of the week and starting them out on as good note can make a world of difference.
Monday morning can be as exciting as Saturday night…it’s all in the perception! I may not see 3900 more Mondays. But I can still make the most of however many more I will live to enjoy. Thanks for reminding me!
