Turn Your Idea Into An Invention

The common thread that ties us to every other person in the world is that . . . we all have pet peeves. Those little things that either happen, or that people do out of habit, can drive us off the deep end. Some people take their pet peeve and bury it, roll their eyes at it, or ignore it. Others use their creativity to do something about it.

Anthony Roberts and William Cortez-Vega, students of Southern Poly Tech State University, decided that they no longer wanted “milk crusties” in their morning cereal. From there, they worked together to create a new invention to change breakfast for themselves and those who also suffer from the same annoyance.

Watch the journey from idea to invention below.

What is the one pet peeve you wish you could do something about? Why can’t you? Your creativity can get as wild as you allow it. Grab someone with the similar issue and work together to find a solution.

It may seem simple, maybe even silly, but The Milk Capper has helped many people who thought they would have to suffer through milk crusties for the rest of their mornings.

Imagine what finding the solution for your pet peeve could do for the other people in your life. Every difference you make counts, no matter how small it is.

You can see more about this invention at http://milkcapper.com/MilkCapper/MilkCapper.html

How To Make a Great Promo Video

People want to be informed quickly. We are now in the days of information and technology, which means whether you’re asking for donations or sharing an interesting tid bit you’ve personally discovered, people want to know about it in two minutes or less.

A lot of entrepreneurs have become hip to this knowledge and have decided to make promotional videos to create popularity for their brands. Videos raise awareness as well as funds. They can bring in an audience or turn them away. Look below at the best ways to make a promotional video.

Location Location Location!

Where you are in your video makes a huge impact for your viewers. Where you appear, or the people you have cast appear, gives viewers a place to look at while they are listening to your information. It puts a place to a product or a scene to a circumstance. Images are sometimes easier to remember than words. Whether you are live outside or you draw a backdrop, make sure it flows with your message and relates to your targeted audience.

Cut The Time!

Think about yourself when you’re watching videos you’ve come across on social media during your downtime. Would you watch a video longer than 5 minutes? What about 3 minutes? Many people wouldn’t watch a video past 1 minute unless they are truly interested in the information.

Make it Count!

Don’t give people a reason to skip past your video, give them a reason to press play. Record everything you want to say about your product or service. Make it as long as you want. Afterward, use your favorite editing software and cut the lag time in between your sentences as well as any repeated information you notice throughout your promo.

Here’s your homework!

Take a look at the promotional video below. What works? What could be different? How would you have approached this video? Let us know! Share your thoughts! We all are here to listen, learn, and educate.

Bring in Extra Money By Investing in Your Own Entrepreneurship

People find security and knowing that they can take care of themselves and the people they love. In order to do so, people sometimes get jobs that they might enjoy in order to bring home what their family needs.

That is why entrepreneurship is so wonderful! It serves as an opportunity to do what you love and get paid to do it. Now, the fear of becoming an entrepreneur is understandable. Where do you start? Where do you go once you start? What if it doesn’t work?

No one wants to make the jump into a dream unless they’re sure it can become a reality. It’s important to remember that everyone who is now big once started small. Apple and Amazon.com were started in garages. Quicken Loans was started with a few men and a couple of phone books. The magic in turning your passion into profit begins once you realize it’s a possibility.

Each of us has a passion. Each of us could use an extra couple of dollars in our pockets. The best thing you can do for yourself is study what you love, and find a way to profit from it. Do you enjoy cutting your own hair? Open up your Saturday mornings to cutting hair for a couple of hours. You will reach a state of nirvana doing what you love and having some extra cash to add to your monthly income.

That’s where entrepreneurship can begin. It’s the chance to discover what you love to do, and then find a way to profit from it. Once you begin getting paid for your hobby, just see where the road of happiness can take you. Build relationships as well as clientele. You’ll be amazed at what you can achieve once you have the need to make a difference in your life.

Why Tech Entrepreneurs Should Attend College

Attending college is more than acquiring a degree in a particular field of study. It’s about becoming a part of a community so that you can begin to have new experiences, make partnerships, and learn from the people around you.

In the video below Nichole Pinkard, professor of computing and digital media at DePaul University, states that she is impressed that the digital software classes are in the same building as photography.

Why is that important?

When you enter the world of computer programming, you begin to work on projects to aid or entertain people in their daily lives. There is nothing new under the sun. Many thoughts and ideas have been imagined, but not all have been executed. Even the ones that have been executed could always be improved by looking at them with a different perspective.

That’s what the college experience does for your mind. The college experience opens up a new world of inspiration. Many of us seek inspiration to finish or begin a project. On a college campus, around every corner, there is a new person with a new need to aid or a new experience to share.

College is about learning. Not just from your books, not just from your professors, but also from every other student who has a different outlook on life from your own. You’d be surprised what stories you hear from complete strangers that spark your next entrepreneurial idea.

Controlling Your Mind To Succeed

Many people have heard of the law of attraction, the law that states that you can achieve greatness through positive, precise and productive thought. Some may agree or disagree with this law. However, the fact is that you will not achieve what you want to achieve unless you feel as if you can.

“Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t, you are right.” - Henry Ford

Many entrepreneurs in training want to give up on their dreams every single day. Many feel as if they are not unique to this world. That their gifts are common and no one needs their products or services. In fact, all entrepreneurs have had this reoccurring thought.

However, the successful entrepreneurs, the ones who are changing at least one life everyday, are the ones who were able to battle those thoughts every single day. They were the ones who thought, “this may not be the best idea for Mr. Costumer number 1, but Mr. Customer number 2 needs it for this reason”.

Turn your mind into a shield and create a sword with your words. Armor yourself with people who believe in your dreams. Battle the negativity with those weapons and protection. Pushing past the NOs make room for the YESs to flow in abundance. You can change yourself from an aspiring entrepreneur to a successful one. It all begins in one place: your mind.

Share the video below as a reminder to those around you that success is possible, it’s been done, and it will keep being done as long as there is the want to succeed.
