The After School Technology Program
Learn, Play & Engage
In an effort to bridge the technology gap between underprivileged grade school youth and the general population, Osiris Organization now offers FREE After School Technology Programs through the Saint Paul Park & Recreation Centers. The pilot program will begin at the Rice Recreation Center with basic Typing and Coding instruction for 1st through 5th grade students of the Saint Paul Public School (SPPS) system.
Typing 4 Kidz
Typing remains a fundamental skill, and it is still one of the most important computer skills you can learn. Learning to type fast and accurately will help students in many ways in life, and it should be considered an essential skill for anyone who sees themselves working with a computer in school and in life (which is most people!)
The program we use is designed to help children master typing skills such as finger placement, typing speed, and accuracy. There are various games, exercises, and challenges to make learning to type an enjoyable experience for your child.
Students will be provided with beginner, intermediate and advanced self paced learning opportunities to develop their keyboarding skills.
Coding 4 Kidz
Welcome to the exciting world of coding! If you’re a student in 1st through 5th grade, we have the perfect program for you.
Our coding program is designed to teach the basics of coding in a fun and interactive way. Students will learn how to create their own games, animations, and stories while developing critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity skills.
We use a program that utilizes visual coding blocks that make coding easy and intuitive. Students drag and drop blocks to create code that makes characters move, jump, and even talk! They’ll learn about loops, conditionals, and variables without even realizing it.
So why wait? CLICK HERE AND REGISTER your child for our Typing and/or Coding program(s) today and join the millions of kids around the world who are learning 21st Century technology disciplines and changing the world!
